In this painting I utilized mask fluid, or frisket. I collected some fall aspen leaves near Twin Lakes and arranged them on a table. I drew the leaves and then masked the leaves using Incredible White Mask with a brush. I used a number of washes for the green background, let it dry completely and then rubbed away the mask with my finger. Then I painted the leaves. I haven't used mask much but I think the mask worked pretty well.
I used my favorite brush for the mask and ruined it. The label on the bottle of mask suggests using a nib, which I didn't have. After the fact I saw an article on using soap on the brush before using the brush with the mask.
The painting is only 5½" X 3¾".
